Columbia Pictures wants to make a movie on Metal Gear Solid game
Columbia Pictures is currently in negotiations to acquire the rights to adapt the best-selling video game “Metal Gear Solid”.
The movie studio is planning to make a character-driven futuristic spy thriller based on this Playstation series game from Konami Digital Entertainment.
The game features Solid Snake, a Special Forces operative. He has been called out of retirement for a one last mission.
He is told to penetrate the defenses of a terrorist group who is planning to attack a nuclear facility in Alaska. His mission is to neutralize the threat.
The game has seen sales of more than $1 billion and 20 million units. It would be interesting to see a movie made out of this game’s story and characters.
