Sega recently announced that they are going to release a compilation of Sega games for the PS-2 in the Sega Classics Collection, containing 10 Sega classics remade for the PS-2 in 3-D with the same old-school game play. Among the games included are Golden Axe, Space Harrier, Columns, and Virtua Racing.

Sega updated the official game page for Sega Classics Collection, showing an exact release date for the upcoming compilation title. Formerly slated for a March 2005 release, the page narrows the date down to March 22nd, 2005, for the PlayStation 2. The Sega Classics Collection includes a number of classic Genesis titles, titles including: Outrun, Golden Axe, Space Harrier, Columns Alien Syndrome, Fantasy Zone, Monaco GP, Virtual Racing Flat Out, and Tant R Bonanza Bros.

Radica also plans to release another Sega Mega Drive hits package featuring Street Fighter II Special Champion Edition and Ghouls and Ghosts. The Arcade Legends Sega Mega Drive Sensible Soccer Plus three-game package goes on sale in May 2005 for about £29.99. Radica aims to cash in on a spate of nostalgia-driven plug and play devices.

Pat Feely, president and CEO of Radica Games Limited, said: “Sensible Software was one of the most important video game development houses of the nineties, creating fun, highly playable games and building a huge following. By re-launching their classic titles in an accessible plug and play format, Radica will be appealing to those original fans and taking a fantastic gaming experience to a whole new audience.”
