Midway announced that Area51 will be available on PC Platform

Midway announced that its upcoming title, Area 51 will be heading to the PC platform. Currently in development by Midway Studios Austin, Area 51 takes place on the infamous base and deals with government cover-ups, alien intrigue and an all star cast.

Gamers will be getting a close encounter of a third kind from Area 51. In addition to releases for the PlayStation 2 and Xbox, there will be a third version of the first-person shooter from Midway. As previously speculated, Area 51 is being developed on all platforms by Midway’s Austin studios

Midway is committed to expanding the breadth of its product line to encompass the PC games sector,” said Steve Allison, chief marketing officer, Midway. “Simultaneously introducing all three SKUs will enable us to effectively maximize our marketing efforts and create a high-level of consumer awareness at launch.

Area 51 is the only action-packed 1st person shooter set in the U.S. governments most secret and secure military facility. The U.S. Army has received a distress signal from Area 51 where a viral outbreak has just shut down the research facility and the automated quarantine procedures have locked all scientific and military personnel inside.
