Sony seems to have unofficially dropped their 20GB Playstation 3 edition
Market sources claim that Sony seems to have stopped supplying the cheaper edition of their Playstation 3 gaming console.
This edition of the PS3 comes loaded with a 20GB hard disk and it is becoming harder for the customers to locate a unit in retail stores.
Best Buy and Sony’s own online store seems to have stopped selling this version of the Sony’s next generation gaming console.
The company however denies that there is any truth in this rumor. Sony said: “The line-up [at SonyStyle store] is decided based on market demand and so it’s not surprising that they are not selling it on their Web site but if you go to a retailer you can find it.”
Sony claimed that the higher end version is the best selling one and is more popular amongst the gamers. This makes it logical for them to concentrate on the 60GB version. They are also selling just the more expensive version in the European market claiming the market is suited for this edition of the gaming console.
