Virgin Radio now available on PS3 and Wii

Virgin Radio has now become the first radio station in Britain to make available their content on the two next generation gaming consoles Playstation 3 and Nintendo Wii.

The company said that their rock station can be accessed via the Virgin Radio Player on the consoles’ web browsers. Also available are their sister stations Xtreme, Classic Rock and Groove.

Gamers would also be allowed to watch videos and sessions as well as buy CDs, tickets and tracks through the Virgin Radio Ticket Store.

James Cridland, the digital media director at Virgin Radio spoke about their services on Wii and PS3: “People are treating the consoles as part of their home entertainment media centre, and now Virgin Radio will be part of that experience.”

He added: “This platform has great growth potential, particularly among early-adopters and 25-44 audience popular with advertisers.”
