Sony PSP vs. iPod. When do we expect Microsoft?
These days, it seems like every hot and new portable entertainment gadget gets compared to the Apple iPod, so it’s no surprise that critics around the world are already pitting Sony’s PlayStation Portable, the PSP, against the iPod, even before the PSP is made available for sale in America.
Sony after years of ignoring MP3 format as a preferred standard for their portable music players started talking up the PSP as much more than a gaming device–complete with rumors of rolling out an accompanying iTunes-like music service of its own–the whole iPod vs. PSP thing has taken on epic.
It looks like Nintendo; the current king of the portable gaming machines would lose its own edge in this newly cluttered market with the entry of Nokia and Sony. Now the point is when do Microsoft plans to come out with their own portable version of the Xbox gaming machine.
