New €169 price point set for European PSP Five new Platinum titles announced at new price point of €19.99

Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) today announced that PSP™ (PlayStation®Portable) would enjoy a new, lower price point across the SCEE territories of €169.99 (or local currency equivalent), with the new price effective from the end of April 2007 and rolling out to all territories by the end of May 2007.

In addition to the new price of PSP, five new Platinum titles will be launched concurrently with a new, lower price for all PSP Platinum titles of €19.99. The new Platinum titles are: Ridge Racer 2, Tekken, Killzone, Loco Roco, and Moto GP.

“The combined effect of the two price reductions will unleash PSP, making it a ‘must have’ portable system for all entertainment enthusiasts, and allowing them to enjoy the breadth and depth of entertainment opportunities available from PSP,” explained Stephane Hareau, PSP Marketing Manager SCEE. “PSP is unique and is constantly evolving.

It offers the widest palette of mobile entertainment, from gaming to video, music, photos and internet – and now the unique possibility to connect to PLAYSTATION®3 remotely. With this new price point, and the launch of five new Platinum titles, PSP is more than ever, the handheld entertainment system of choice for the discerning gamer”.
