God of War II: Best selling game in the US for the month of March

Market research firm NPD Group has revealed in a report that the Sony’s “God of War II” videogame product for their Playstation 2 gaming console was the best selling video game in the United States in March.

NPD said in the report that the action adventure game sold 833,000 units at retail last month making it the best selling game for the month of March.

In fact, the game sold almost double the unit sales of the second-best selling game in the market Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter.

Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter has been developed by the videogame company Ubisoft Entertainment. The third best selling game last month in the US was Activision Inc.’s “Guitar Hero II”. These two games are for the Microsoft’s Xbox 360 gaming console.

Nintendo’s Wii Play (Nintendo Wii) and Sony’s Motorstorm (Sony Playstation 3) were the fourth and fifth largest selling games.
