id Software has launched their hugely popular videogame title Doom on the Apple App Store.

It can be played on both Apple iPod Touch and iPhone.

The game has been optimized for the touchscreen device with new updated controls specially designed by John Carmack himself.

It also has some other improvements to make it more playable like 24-bit lighting.

Rock Band is finally available on the Apple App Store.

This new game can be played on both Apple iPhone and Apple iPod Touch.

EA Mobile is the developer of this mobile edition of the Rock Band.

The game allows multi-player gaming up to four players through Bluetooth connectivity.

It comes loaded with around 20 MP3-quality rock songs.

Gamers also get the ability to download five additional songs for USD 1 each.

The game is being sold for USD 10.

Schiau Studios has increased the price of their games hosted on the Apple App Store for the weekend.

The game Alchemize is now priced at USD 40 up from USD 3.

They have done this as a sign of protest against the users who keep on complaining about the price tags of the apps on the store.

Also, as a protest against developers who end up lowering their prices to generate sales.

In fact, some paid apps have just gone free as the developers face more competition from established players.

Electronic Arts has confirmed that they are all set to launch a mobile version of the popular videogame Rock Band on the Apple App Store.

It is expected to arrive by the end of the current month.

The company spoke about this version in a statement: “Start out playing in grungy dives and work all the way up to stadium-rock stardom.”

The version for the iPhone would feature tracks from Smashing Pumpkins, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Foo Fighters, and Blink-182.

It would be Bluetooth enabled letting three players to play it together on their iPhones or iPod Touch.

A mobile version of Rock Band is already available on some Verizon branded devices in the US market.

Apple approves Commodore 64 emulator for iPhone!

Vintage game fans have something to cheer about.

Apple has finally given its approval to the Commodore 64 emulator for the Apple iPhone.

This mobile app has been developed by Manomio.

The application retails for USD 4.99.

The developers have made sure that the app is totally legal and has all the permissions.

The emulator would not run disk images but would work with authorized copies which would be provided by the developers.

The app comes with five games by default (Artic Shipwreck, Dragon’s Den, Jack Attack, Jupiter Lander and Lemans). New games would have to be purchased separately.

Apple App Store has become the hottest destination for mobile and casual game developers.

Gameloft is one company which has gained immensely from this platform.

The videogame company said that they have already sold more than 6 million games through this store.

These games are playable on both Apple iPhone and Apple iPod Touch.

The company said in a statement: “From the distribution model to the types of games available, the App Store has completely revolutionized the way handheld games are played, perceived and received. Our strategy from the onset has been twofold. First we deliver an aggressive line-up of high quality games and then we adapt in real time to consumer needs. With over 6 million paid games sold, it has proven to be quite successful.”

Gameloft currently has on offer more than 30 games and other titles on the Apple App Store.

Rockstar Games has announced that they are developing a version of GTA for the Apple iPhone platform.

Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars would be released on the Apple App Store later this year. It would be playable on both iPod Touch and iPhone.

The company would also launch Beaterater on this popular mobile platform. The expected pricing of these two mobile apps has not been revealed.

Chinatown Wars is already available on the Nintendo DS console. It is soon going to be available on the Sony Playstation Portable device.

The company said that the version for the iPhone would feature the same version but would have slightly toned down graphics.

Capcom Chief Financial Officer Kazuhiko Abe has announced that the company is aiming to release as many as 10 new gaming titles for the Apple iPhone.

These games would be released by March 2010.

Capcom recently released Resident Evil: Degeneration for the iPhone.

They are not alone focusing on the iPhone as a major mobile gaming platform.

Electronic Arts, Konami, and Gameloft have already announced their commitment to this platform.

Some of the games Capcom has already made available on the Apple App Store include: Mega Man II, Who Wants to be A Millionaire? and Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader?

Gameloft has announced the launch of their latest mobile game on the Apple App Store.

Terminator Salvation mobile game is now available for Apple iPod Touch and iPhone for USD 10.

The game is based on the upcoming Terminator movie featuring Christian Bale.

This mobile game puts the gamer against hostile terminators in addition to other machines like tanks, motorcycles and drones controlled by Skynet.

Gamers get access to several weapons including assault rifle, shotgun, grenade launcher, chaingun.
