It bodes well for people who have been respecting piracy laws for years. I have personally rid myself of Xbox LIVE service due to the insane amount of modders and cheaters in games like Call of Duty, and they have received many thousands if not millions of complaints of tampered play. We don’t allow it in the real world of competition (or shouldn’t), moreover we should not allow it on a pay-per online gaming service. Their consoles aren’t damaged from playing games, just from online enjoyment; which has very directly lead to cheaters exploiting the honest online, one of the only places extant where the law-abiders are being punished by the law-breakers.
The reported PC issues were the genus of the problem with its inherent modding culture, and they have had to suffer the ban hammer’s wrath, inadvertently and unfortunately. And while they have only suffered the loss of their modding ability, they are no better at dealing with their emotions when their beloved long-term developers have jumped ship to the land of a pirate-free oasis. Call of Duty was waiting for a ripe time to clear its caches of pirate dbags, as it was very much ruining their franchise as an online forum.
After all, without the prospect of certain competitors like Halo (Bungie) being hacked (or having a much better time catching thieves), Activision realized what profits they were losing on both fronts with its online and media-based product, and a swift blow was indeed dealt.

Classic, I'm buying a PS3 now. Nigeria even moaned about District 9 and how that movie puts them in a bad light. Granted, Nigeria is a 3rd world country with serious problems, but that's just the thing. They need to sort themselves out. Deal with the rampant corruption, scams and crime and for the lack of a better phrase "harden the F-up".

The Xbox deal as accidentally released by Amazon Germany is for a 'Super Elite', Jasper model (the latest & best SKU), with 250gb hard drive, a copy of the new Forza and 2 wireless controllers.

All for a couple of € less than the current 120gb PS3 slim.

Never mind the 360 putting pressure on the Wii, the 360 itself will be under intense pressure from the PS3 Slim if the leaked Best Buy ad is genuine – $299. Which would line up with the European rumour earlier in week cutting the PS3 from 399 to 299 Euro.

That’ll put the PS3 at the same price as the 360. It’s every bit as capable a games console as the 360, plus has the BluRay player, wireless networking, free online play, cheaper accessories (e.g. standard HDDs).

If the PS3 Slim does arrive at $299, expect to see MS cutting the Elite by at least another $50 pretty damn quickly, forcing Nintendo into a similar price cut.
